If your dog has trouble listening, you are not the only one. Although training a dog is not too difficult, many people don’t ever get around to doing it. Or in some situations, dogs are instructed to follow certain rules however some commands just won’t sink in with them. So, how about we talk about some of the dilemmas people have with their dogs and how to make them better.  Cesar Millan’s Facebook is here.

Dogs the jump on other people with their paws can be an irritating problem you need to fix. When your dog does this to someone who doesn’t like, or is afraid of dogs it can cause conflict. Dogs have a natural tendency to jump up and down on one another, especially the mother, when affection is needed. The only problem is, if this type of behavior is allowed to persist, although cute, it will develop into a very bad habit later on in life. If you push the dog away, this is the wrong thing to do as the puppy will think you are interacting. It’s best to turn to the side with your body so the dog can’t get its paws on your chest. Just say “sit” and when the dog does, praise it for doing so. You simply need to start early enough in order to ensure that your dog will not have this behavior.

Does your dog like to fight? If it does, serious issues can develop as a result. Naturally territorial, dogs will often challenge other canines that come into their area to show dominance over where they are.  Colin West, a Santa Monica dog hiker, can show you more about that on his Facebook Page.   So when you walk your dog, you can prevent fights by being aware of your dog and the surroundings. When walking, be sure to keep a safe distance between your dog and all other dogs that are walking by. One way to keep dogs from fighting is to keep them from interacting while on the street. Doing so is a great way to prevent aggression of any type. By preventing your dog from pulling you on the leash, and using one when you go out, things should be just fine.

Separation anxiety is one of the top behavioral issues that dogs have. A dog left alone all day may exhibit various types of behavior that shows his discontent. Continual barking, going potty inside or chewing on things, are common signs that your dog has separation anxiety. An additional sign of this is that your dog seems disappointed when you leave your home and then acts up when you get home. This is a hard thing to fix and it might take a lot of training and behavior modification. You should always leave some toys out for your dog to play with and turning the radio on for the day is also a good idea. Another possibility, which isn’t always practical, is to get another animal as a companion for your dog. Training your dog can help him get over almost any behavior problem he might have. The better trained your dog is, the safer it will be for you, your dog and everyone else. Even if your dog doesn’t have a specific behavior problem, training is a good thing to get involved with. For any problems that you do have now, there’s certainly a training technique that can be successful with it.
